FTU...Life after the military Podcast

In this episode I speak to Dan, a paratrooper who left the military and found success through an internship with Microsoft. We discuss what prompted him to leave the military and we disagree on his take about only leaving the military if a person is 100% certain they are prepared to leave.  We give some shout outs and the customary "ZOT! ZOT! ZOT!" and "ROLL TIDE!!!"

In this episode I discuss the importance of downtime and ensuring that we take mental and physical breaks from time to time. I also discuss the importance of continuing to practice on improving ourselves.  I give an update on the pod schedule for the New Year.  I thank everyone for listening to the pod and end the show with the farewell "ZOT! In this episode I talk to Eddie, an old pal from C/97. WE discuss his transition out of the military and the challenges he faced when working with non-veterans. We discuss the mental issues we all had while we were in the military and how we used alcohol as a coping mechanism.  We discuss the possibility of having a C/97 reunion and inform are brothers that is is alright to seek help.  We end the show with shout outs and the farewell "ZOT! This episode focuses on the difficulty I experience during the holiday season.  I request that we reach out to our brothers and sisters and check up on them during this time of year.  I rip into the military for accepting the credit for our successes and denying us assistance when we make mistakes.  I end the show with the traditional "ZOT! My daughter explains to me that I have been a bit judgmental on retired sergeant majors.  I explain that the holidays are difficult for me and the importance of taking care of yourself during this time of year.  I end the show with thanking the listeners and the traditional "ZOT! The previous episode with Julian was cut short due to technical difficulties.  In this second part, we discuss the Afghanistan withdrawal and how it wore on all veterans.  We discuss veterans are not required to justify their service.  We also talk about the joy of motorcycles.  We end the show with promoting a veteran business and the farewell "ZOT!
